The SOlar water DISinfection (SODIS) is a water disinfection method obtained with the use of the solar light and of traditional plastic bottles. SODIS is a cheap and efficient system for water treatment in remote areas, as they are in the Saboba District. After exposure to the sun for about 6 hours of plastic bottles, the UVA assistance has an important improvement of drinking water quality, derived principally in these zones from rivers and ponds, with a significant reduction in transmitted diseases from infected water. The SODIS, compared to other water purification systems, therefore, is a crucial tool for the benefit of the population, which may source of this water for drinking and for the preparation of food.
