The HAYC Constitution:
  • Health Aid Youth Clubs will be formed at the following schools: SDA JSS (Junior Secondary School), Central JSS, Gaala JSS, EP JSS, St. Charles JSS, EP SS, Sabtech SS.

  • From the two secondary schools, Sabtech SS and EPSS, 12 students, 6 from each school, will be selected every May and October by their patrons to be trained and taught by Health Aid staff.

  • These students must then select a President and Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary, who will liaise regularly with Health Aid staff and Patrons of the Club.

  • At each Health Aid “Action” (June-July, November-December), these 12 selected students will be taught in detail about the following topics – HIV and STDs, Sanitation and Hygiene, Nutrition, Family Planning.

  • In the intervening months between the Health Aid Actions, the 12 students will visit the 6 Schools and give teaching seminars to assemblies on the above mentioned topics.

  • The timetable for these school visits will be drawn up by the end of each Action by the student body and submitted to Health Aid staff, who will then submit it to the various schools’ headmasters and patrons.

  • The timetable has to be appropriate and convenient for each school and gain the approval of the headmaster and patron.

  • After each school visit, the student President will submit a report to the Health-Aid staff.

  • Each report should consist of School Name, Name of Patron and Headmaster, Names of HAYC teaching members, Number of Pupils Present. The report should then describe the seminar’s proceedings, positive and negative aspects.

  • Teaching the 12 students, provision of necessary teaching materials for the school visits, fundraising and financial matters will be the responsibility of Health Aid management staff.

  • At the end of each Action, the President will submit to Health Aid a full appraisal of the HAYC program, including advantages, disadvantages, and future recommendations.

  • It is the responsibility of all HAYC members to ensure the knowledge learned though HAYC is passed on to their family, friends, and community.

  • Health Aid and the Youth Club members will aim to organize an annual social event promoting our values and principles.
